Product is good and installation was done well. They also followed up promptly to address concerns. My one complaint is that the installation was delayed and I wasn’t notified in a timely manner.

Andy was very easy to work with. He and his crew were thorough, neat and turn around time was quick. He answered any questions we had, and helped to find the right windows to replace our old windows. The first cold and windy day after they were installed, I checked to be sure there was no cold air leaking into our home.

Replaced a slab ding door. Made clear what to expect, and timeline. Installed earlier than timeline. Install crew was polite, fast and patient with my questions. Price was best of four estimates and I went with them as a couple friends highly recommended. Will absolutely return for any future window needs.

Andy is the owner and he was quick to schedule us a free quote. Jeremy came by and quoted us for two doors and double window. He was honest about their pricing and good at sales.

Presentation was great no high pressure to buy the windows. The windows were installed by people that answered your questions and explain what they were doing. We had a thunderstorm shortly after they were installed and had no air come through. I would highly recommend this company and their windows.

I’m very pleased with the results! They are so easy to clean. I’ve only been in my house a few months, but could really tell the difference right away. Hope to really see the difference in my heating and cooling bill. I highly recommend him!

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Insert replacement, also called pocket replacement, fits a new, made-to-measure window into your existing frame after removing only the old sashes and hardware. The original frame, interior casing, and exterior trim all stay put. It’s faster, cleaner and cheaper than full-frame, and it only works when the existing frame is genuinely sound.

Yes, usually 20 to 40 percent less per opening. You’re paying for less labour, no new trim, and no drywall or siding repair afterward. For a home where the frames are still solid, you get the same modern glass, seals, and hardware for meaningfully less money.

Slightly, yes. Because the new unit sits inside the existing frame, you lose roughly half an inch to an inch of visible glass on each side. On a standard double-hung, most people never notice. On a small window, it’s more apparent, which we point out during the estimate rather than let you discover afterward.

The frame needs to be solid wood with no rot, reasonably square, and free of water damage or persistent staining. We check every opening during the estimate. If some fail, we’ll tell you which ones need full-frame and quote them separately.

Often, yes, but it depends on the individual house rather than its age. Plenty of well-maintained homes in Beaverdale and the older Ankeny neighbourhoods have frames in fine condition. What we look for is water history, not build date.

Roughly one hour per window once we’re set up, so most homes are finished in a single day. A ten-window project typically means one full day on site, including protection, removal, installation, sealing, and cleanup.

No, and that’s the main appeal. Your interior casing, stool, and apron stay exactly as they are: no drywall repair, no repainting, no matching old woodwork. We work from the outside as much as possible and mask off the interior to keep dust contained.

The window unit itself performs identically: same glass, same seals, same rating. The difference is what’s behind it: a full-frame lets us re-insulate and re-flash the rough opening, while an insert keeps whatever is already there. If your existing frame is well-sealed, the real-world gap is small.
